Dr. Carlton Houtz is an Orthopaedic surgeon for the Highland Center for Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine located at the Highland Clinic main campus. Dr. Houtz specializes in arthroscopic and reconstructive shoulder, knee and elbow surgeries for patients of all ages. He has specialty training in non-operative and operative treatment of sports injuries in athletes.
During his sports medicine fellowship, he served as an assistant team physician for the Houston Texans, Houston Astros, Houston Rockets, Houston Dynamo and Rice University athletics.
Dr. Houtz is an active member of the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine, Arthroscopy Association of North America, Louisiana and Shreveport Medical Societies. He is a Board Certified Fellow with the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.
Dr. Houtz serves as team physicians for the following schools: Captain Shreve High School, Evangel High School, Haughton High School, Loyola College Prep, North DeSoto High School, Parkway High School and Bossier Parish Community College.
